Last Day Of School

It's the last day of kindergarten. How did that time go so fast? I still vividly remember walking away from her classroom on the first day, trying to look like I wasn't about to totally loose it. As you can see, we let her pick out her own clothes for this day. How a pair of tennis shoes, an old tee, and a skirt go together is beyond me. Whatever. It was better than the High School Musical "Gabriella" costume she's been wearing everywhere. lol. What a fun age this has turned out to be.

Teacher Appreciation Book

So, somehow I ended up being the room mom for Colby's kindergarten class this year. It was actually really nice, as I was able to be at all of her parties and spent some extra time getting to know her teacher. For teacher appreciation day, I had all the kids write a couple of sentences about why their teacher was the best. I took pictures of each kid and published their answers with their pictures in a book for her. She said she loved it. . . I hope she did.

Christian Edward Chesnut

Well, we did it. We finally brought our new baby into the world. I tell you what, that baby kicked my butt while he was inside my tummy - and he kicked it coming out. lol. We couldn't be happier! 8 pounds and 1/2 oz. . . . . 19 inches long. Arived in less than 5 minutes. I'm never doing this again. lol.

Mommy's distractions

i've been having a lot of strong contractions - and colby keeps wanting to know why i'm sitting down so much. lol. so i told her that when it gets close to when a baby gets to come out mommy's have something called contractions that are not a big deal and don't hurt, but they make mommy's have to sit down sometimes. yesterday i was having so many, i told her we needed to come straight home after her birthday party. we got home, i got her homework together, and i sat down. she sits next to me and says, "mommy, is your tummy having one of those distractions"? lol. lol. i loved it so much i didn't correct her. this morning she asked me if i would be having any distractions when she got home.
lol. she's just cool.
